Get a good 2" diagonal and some 2" EP's and go crazy chasing DSO's. I wonder if they used the GSO cemented doublet? GSO put this into an 80/480 scope that was marketed in the US as the Hardin Star-HOC 80. The GSO/Hardins varied quite a bit in their performance; from what I understand GSO had QC issues with the polishing of the objectives. The good ones make great wide-field scopes. Just looking at the high build quality on the Astro Tech, my guess is that if Astro Tech used the GSO doublet they picked the better ones.
