M82 under foggy skies with a full moon. I used my Orion 80ED with a .5 reducer. 120 guided exposures of 60 seconds. The camera used was the Meade DSI-C. The mount is an Atlas. It's my first time guiding. I probably shouldn't have used the focal reducer.

it looks like there's some good color detail in there. I'd try it again without the focal reducer like you mentioned, otherwise, looks pretty good. Looks like your tracking was pretty accurate. What is going on with the top and bottom left corners? It looks clipped or something..

Very cool! Looks like the tracking was dead on, so don't be afraid to double or triple exposure time...it has the potential to add a great amount of detail to what is an already detailed perspective of M82.
Of course I see that it was full moon, so keeping the exposures short probably was a good idea. But try out a few long ones to see if its worth it...

Very nice M82 capture. A few days from now (no full moon) and without the reducer, you could probably do subexposures several minutes long, if your tracking allows for it.

Thanks for the compliments and useful tips. I tried 3 minutes exposures but because of the full moon I decided to play it safe. I also used an IDAS LPS filter which probably helped. I can't push the stretching on this image as much as I would like because doughnuts start to appear. I know that I can do Flats to get rid of the doughnuts but I don't know how to do Flats. I need to find a good tutorial for doing Flats.

I managed to stretch the image a bit more after applying a false flat using Jerry Lodriguss' method in his DSLR book (it also works for CCD cameras):

In any event, here's the image:
