I took my SolarMax40 DS to Colorado for our holidays. However, I don't have a scanner there, so I'm only now getting the sketches I did scanned in. I skipped a couple that weren't that good, but I'll post the rest here.
The first 3 are white Faber-Castel watercolor pencil; the remainder are white Derwent Graphitint (which I prefer). All are on A5 Daler-Rowney black paper sketchbook. (I prefer the texture of Artagain -- which I use with my SF70/Pronto -- but I like the form-factor of the A5 sketchbook while travelling.)

Jeff,
Great solar sketching. Wonderful, just like your sketching forum winner from June. Nice to know you had sunshine on your holidays.

Dee --
Indeed it was. Although Colorado has some interesting weather patterns: I'd say it was sunny in the morning probably 8 out of every 10 days, but only about 2 out of every 10 in the afternoon. Then again, the family all wanted to do other things in the afternoon, so I guess it wasn't so bad....

Thanks, Frank!
It's good to be back with the SF70 in Ireland, though. Here's a sketch from today in worse seeing than I ever saw in Colorado, yet there's still much more detail visible with the larger (and unobstructed) filter:

Jeff,
An excellent series of prominence observations. You have captured the delicate nature of these solar eruptions. Thank you for sharing them with us all.
