Does any of the tube suppliers, such as Tubes for Telescopes or Hastings Pipe sell small lengths of tube? I am going to need 12 inch OD tubing in a 10 inch length, 14 inch length, and 6 inch length. Will they go that short?
My plan is to make a 10" f5 newtonian similar to this Royce Open Tube Reflector. The upper section will be 10" long, middle section 13" long, and mirror section 6" long.
The weight should be fairly light. So far about 16 lbs. According to the vendor specs...
29" of aluminum tube = 7.2 lbs.
29" of Protostar BlackLite = 4.35 lbs.
The Royce conical = 6.5 lbs.
Mirror Cell = 2.5 lbs.
Secondary = 100 g - 200 g
Struts and additional support = ?
Focuser = ?
Feel free to add your ideas! This is my first big project.

If you can't find it online, check with an irrigation supply company. They have thin-wall aluminum tubing in various sizes.

Also you can sometimes find odd sizes/length's on eBay.

I'll check them out. I wonder how strong the Protostar BlackLite tubes are. Any experience with them?

You could try onlinemetals.com They don't list anything this big in their catalog (max size 8" OD), but give them a call, they may have something laying around.
