Alt-Az binocs on a GEM - sweet! new
      #2550448 - 07/30/08 01:43 PM

Here's a shot of my latest setup with the 20x80 Z's. It's an original Vixen Polaris GEM point straight up for a more intuitive Alt-Az operation. Slo-mo is like a dream, zenith is still a problem, but another project in the works takes care of that, more later. Click photo for larger image in gallery.

Gill, thanks for the nice pic.
Have you tried/considered mounting them at the end of the counterweight shaft to get more clearance from the mount head?

Binoculars on a GEM mount--hmmm?

I am looking forward to your future posts about this setup.
