Hi everyone. I have a cg-5 mount and a nexstar hand control. I recently upgraded my hand control to version 4.13, which allows you to upgrade the motor control firmware via the hand control. I was upgrading the motor control when my computer suddenly turned off. The motor control is corrupt and when I turn on the hand control it says "initializing..." and then goes blank. I can't connect to the hand control through mcupdate in order to reset the motor firmware. I'm in the middle of the star party and I need this to work. Please help! Thanks!

Did you get it resolved yet? You say you can't connect via MCupdate, can you connect to it via HCupdate? If so just reinstall the hand control firmware. If not then you'd likely have to sent it back to celestron unless they have a series of keys you can hold down to perform a factory hard reset.

There may be a way to get into programming mode on power up with a series of buttons held down during power up.. It's the only possible way, short of opening it up, and doing it the hard way.

Where did you find that update? It is not on Celestron's site...
