Veil Narrowband & Wide-field
      #2562023 - 08/05/08 02:51 PM Attachment (15 downloads)

I've been lucky to have some clear nights this week and was able to grab some time on the veil. I used a FSQ-106EDX + PL16803 + AP900. Ha(520)/OIII(80)/SII(80) - all 20 min subs. Feedback is welcomed!

Fantastic image -- it looks like the 16803-based CCD camera with the FSQ is a great combo for widefields. Lets hope the price of chips like this comes down in the years ahead.

I love the image, Rebel--nice work. I love the Veil, but neither of my imaging scopes has a wide enough field of view to do the entire veil, even with a fairly large chip.

Any idea what happened to 52 Cygni? It looks like there is some sort of weird reflection (perhaps off one of the narrow band filters?)

Again, nice work! Getting the right equipment from the start will certainly make the learning process much easier. Best of luck.
