Large box arrives!
      #2562314 - 08/05/08 05:44 PM

At long last the box left the twilight zone(British Customs).

The Garrett BT70-90 was really well packaged (thank you Zach) no naughty shipping lumps missing from the box. I was eager to get home from work to open it. I knew delivery was today after paying the VAT,import duty and handling fee

Obviously we have had rain all day and night so far.
Opened the box and found a pair of white cotton gloves in with the binoculars? Had a look at the coatings and they did look very nice, green on the objectives and purple on the eyepieces. Just slipped the 20x in for a very quick look from the bedroom window through the pouring rain(not the best test really) Everything looks to be alright collimation wise.I was worried because I had a report on some that were out of alignment and had to go back. Mine have come along way.
I'm afraid that's about it until I can get them under the stars.

Pretty boring really.

No photo's due to the fact there are some nice one's on the GO sight.

Glen ,

I have to agree that must go down as one of the most BORING previews I've ever had the displeasure of reading :-)

That said , I feel obliged to confess that when I saw the title of the thread , for one almost heart - stopping moment , I feared the subject matter could have been related to something far more sinister !

The bad news is the predicted torrential rain in Rochdale tomorrow -- the good -- clearing up for the weekend ! :-)

Good luck , and do keep us posted on this exciting new acquisition !

Kind Regards
Kenny
