I guess I only need 15mm..
Just to install the CPU cooling fans (3).
The C-14 project works out well, and I see there is a need for cooling on my Meade 14" LX200 aswell.
I used a few times yspacks to cooldown the back of the mirror and that seems to work. So if I can install 3 of these CPU cooling fans and two thermometer sensors then that will be great.
Will do some reseach on this before I actually start.
Thanks Lester.

Hi guys, I have also been working cooling my C11 down. I have decided against peltiers due to lack of space with my IFW filter wheel mounted right on the back of the OTA. Also, while I was experimenting with a peltier I quickly found out that you cannot turn it off once you begin to use it since the heat will travel back to the cold side relatively quickly. Right now I am using an air conditioner in my dome with a lymax cooler getting the inside of the dome down to just over the dew point and the mirror slightly under the ambient. Then turn it off and let stabiize for 1hr. As the ambient is dropping 1C/hr, this is only ideal for a short amount of time. So my new plan is to try a DonJoy cold therapy system bought on ebay for $50, http://www.donjoy.com/index.asp/fuseaction/products.list/cat/12
There is a convenient pad that will fit the back of my OTA which is supposed to provide good uniform cooling. I still need to pick this up from the post office and try it. Once I get some results, I can post them. So far even my best cooling has not produced my best Jupiter images although seeing has been a bigger issue. Good luck with the project
Regards,
Steve

That looks interesting ! WHen the Peltier coolers are off, I still keep the exterial fans running to get rid of the heat. Hope that will work I also add cooling packs on the scope to get the cool down faster. But I'm still didn't finish my C 14 cooling project, so I will let you know how the temperature cool down works, time wise. Freddy

I'm imaging with the C 14" almost cooled down and my Meade 14" LX20 with a DFK camera and there is a great difference in image quality ! (Jupiter) The cooling really helps a lot ! If I could only take the Meade 14" LX200 out of the forks and install cooler fans and peltier coolers, that should be great !.. Can't wait to process the Avi's.. Will post images of the whole project in a few days... Parts came in late and I re modified a few things. Freddy

good to hear Freddy. Now you are part of a growing legion of peltier cooled scopes.
