Hi all! I am sending you some photos of totality that were captured from the shores of lake Ob', outside the town of Novosibirsk, Siberia, Russia. Was a pretty awesome experience!

Thank you! We had the great luck to have clear sky!
Most surreal was hearing a nightbird howling during totality!

Thank you John, Mike, Yuri and Chris!
Oops, i forgot to write the equipment:
Bresser Skylux 70mm refractor, Canon EOS 450D (US - Digital Rebel XSi), on Bresser Skylux tripod (type EQ1) with one motor.
This scope has so sharp optics and it's so light that it's ideal for photographing such events.

Hi Elias,
Splendid shots!!!
Unfortunately the eclipse was not seen from my latitude.
Did you travel to Siberia especially to capture the eclipse?
it is cold, isn't it...

I look forward to seeing more shots of you posted here mate!!

Bests,

David

Thank you dear David!!!
Of course i traveled especially for the eclipse, but spent some days in Moscow too, very nice!
Contrary to what is believed Novosibirsk is hot in the summer(temps can reach 90-100F, 32-40C)and it feels more hot due to high humidity! In the winter though the average temperature is 2F/-17C!!!

Oh! To be honest... I didn't know it, Elias...
I can't believe it, I have always thought it was very cold there...
It must have been a very nice experience!!
Yes you're right, humidity makes the weather sensation more apparent(either hot or cold)
I hope you have fixed your C11's secondary mirror!
And I would also love to see your UV shots with your new Schuler filter!!... you got one, didn't you??
Hugs my friend!

David

David, the whole trip was a fantastic experience and thank God we had clear conditions during the eclipse, otherwise we would be disappointed. It was my second total eclipse after the one i saw in Kastellorizo, Greece in 2006, but then i didn't take photographs (i enjoyed it more because of that!).
As for my C11 i correct the collimation as you've told me.
I await for Venus to gain some altitude.
My focus recently is on photography of celestial objects with earthly targets as ancient monuments, e.t.c. and that's why i am not so active here.

Dear Elias,
Please forgive me but with too much time on my hands I have 'played around' with your excellent images. This is just out of pure jealousy as I couldn't get to the eclipse myself. I hope you don't mind too much.
Cheers,
Alan C.
