I was noticing that when I open my images in PixInsight from Envisage, they look like 8 bit images. I am using a DSI Pro mono and saving "All Uncombined Images". Should I be saving "All RAW images" instead?

I usually check "save all uncombined",this way YOU (not the comp) can determine what subs make it to your stack. also I saved in Fits format. Hope this helps

Saving all uncombined images is fine, but use the FITS format. The FITS file is 16 bit, make sure PixInsight doesn't convert them to 8 bit. Also, I've found Autostar Imaging Processing to be very helpful in doing the pre-work on my DSI Pro images.
