I've called all the local camera places around here and none carry the Kodak Elite 200 or the Fuji Provia 400F The last place I called the clerk wished me luck in finding it. Is it not made any more? Why doesn't anyone stock it ?

You might try mail order ... I have had good luck with B&H
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/
I believe the Fuji Provia 400F is no longer made, replaced by Fuji Provia 400X. I'm not sure the "X" performs the same as the "F" though.

A bit off topic, but anyway - I see less and less stores having quality films in stock, but there seems to be a few of them having everything you need (at least here in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia). It seems they recognized that there still are many photographers shooting film. I was talking to the guy at the local store and he says the film sales are very good! So, you should find that special store..

My local store that used to carry every kind of professional film that you can think of went out of business. As suggested, B&H, Adorama, or other online stores are a sure bet, and the price is good.

OK, so I need some film for this weekend. What could I settle for ? Whats a good substitute? I'm obviously going to have to order some "Good Stuff" for the BFSP. But I'm heading down the shore and I want to take some practice shots.

I've ordered film from B&H, and had it delivered in less than 36 hours. That's what I call service. It was delivered to Ontario - Canada within that time frame.

I know it is a little late for the weekend but I have had good luck with Fuji Sensia 200. You can get it in print or slide film. Here is a 30 miniute exposure of The North American Nebula I took with the Fujichrome Sensia 200 which is the slide film.

I don't know about the E200, not sure if it's still in production, but if it is B&H will have it. As far as the Provia 400F goes, Fuji discontinued the 400F and is producing the 400X now.
Several of the camera stores around me have the 400X in stock, at least in 35mm. I've been looking around at getting some of that in 120 format and would like to try the Velvia 100F in either 35mm or 120 just to see how it responds to astro.
The 400X has a little less red responce than the 400F did, there were a few members that posted some shots in the 400X some time ago. If you browse back a ways you should be able to find them.
As others mentioned, B&H carries it and is really good. You can also check out Adorama and get it from there.

E200 is still available in 120 and 35mm formats.
B&H stocks this film in large quantities.
If you want the best results stick with the E200, but if your an experimenter at heart try Provia 400X. The 400X does a good job on blue (and light pollution), but has poor red response. Great for the Pleiades, Andromeda Galaxy, Pinwheel, etc.
Good luck.
