Busy day, huh, Brian?!

Now all's we need is a really nice night to test em all out... a "predicted" nice night... I just couldn't get out there tonight... too tired (today was first day of VBS and that meant we all hadda get up at crack of dawn - 7:30!)

The horror...

Strangely, I find myself pining for those clear, crisp, fall nights w/ no humidity, and dark at a civilized, EARLY, hour!

I'll drop ya a PM next clear night and we can check it all out...

clear enough skies

That sounds good Dave. I managed to get out for just an hour last night... it was just getting nice and dark when I had to go to bed (10pm). Gettin' up at 5am five days a week is drag for an astronut. I did cruise around the Milky Way for awhile with binos and then turned the 8" dob onto Jupiter for awhile. But I'm a little short on EP's right now until some of the new stuff shows up! Plossls and the dob made me remember how much I appreciate widefield EP's pretty quick!

I actually only had to put out about $35 to do this recent EP swap around. Sold my glass for around $1685 and bought the new stuff for about $1715. Course I sold five EP's and only bought four so depending on how you look at it.....

OK Brian

Shawn, the used EP market really is a beautiful thing. I've tried more than my fair share of high-end EP's and equipment for nothing more than the cost of shipping! If I buy used, take good care of the equipment, and then sell if it doesn't work out... the shipping is usually all it costs me. Not a bad deal at all!

The 31T5, 26T5, 22T4 and 13Ethos do accept Dioptrix... interestingly the 20T5 and the 8Ethos do NOT...

Dave - according to the 8mm detail sheet on Astronomics.com site, the 8mm Ethos does accept Dioptrix (read he last paragraph near the bottom).

Hey Bill... I hope you are right, cause when I look at the TV website, this is the current info on Dioptrix:

dipotrix info

Which clearly doesn't list the E8...

That said, I haven't TRIED it yet = anyone ELSE live in New England these last 6+ weeks

So... I hope you (and they) are right, and it's just that TV hasn't updated their site yet...

clear enough skies (soon, please, Lord!?)
