As how the majority of my observing last night was in the region of Sagittarius, naturally Jupiter was on the menu, so to say.
Located roughly between Albaldah and Nunki, the skies offered up a great view of the "King of Planets", with its associated moons putting on an equally pleasing show themselves. I kept the magnifications fairly low, but even with this the gas giant was as clear as a bell and its banding very evident.
I thought the view was great with the 15mm Expanse and 2x Barlow, so I didn't even bother grabbing the 5mm or 3mm EP's. Although I wasn't aware that the GRS was supposed to transit tonight, or I would have (I was busy plotting other DSO's for the evening and hadn't bothered to check on this earlier).
Ah well.
Anyway, with a meager magnification of 160x, here is how Jupiter appeared to me last night:

very nice sketch of jup very realistic looking, i like how you made the neb much darker then the seb just as it appears in my eyepiece great job.

An outstanding and very realistic observation of Jupiter and it's satellites through your instrument. It appears as if we are looking at an image of Jupiter. Thank you for sharing it with us all.

Finally the smoke has cleared.  This is a beautiful sketch of Jupiter, its moons and some field stars too. Excellent!

Once again I thank everyone for your kind words. 
Yes Frank, thank goodness the smoke has cleared to allow for some much deserved observing. On this night, I completed 9 sketches, and am working to digitize them in order to share with my "buds" here on CN.

Very nice! Exactly what I was observing for quite awhile and then came the GRS at 2 AM PDT (9 UT.)
Very accurate rendering of the NEB as a distinctly darker cloud belt as compared to the SEB as a double lighter band.

Magnificent sketch!
Jupiter seems to float in your eyepiece like a real 3D object.

That is because I have incorporated the use of TrueSpace and Blender 3-D programs in addition to my standard PhotoShop CS3 in some of my digital renderings.
