The previous owner had the alignment finder missing on purchase, but made a mess of the loosening the two screws to refit. One of the screws is now locked tight and the wrench key just turns in the slot... my solution so far is to 'adraldite rapid' the wrench key to the bolt and hope I can turn the bolt anticlockwise... Any other workable thoughts, before taken to the dealer....

Perhaps one of these would work to extract the screw.

Might be able to take a hack saw and cut a slot in the head of the screw and use a slotted screwdriver.

Try a little bit of valve grinding compound on the screwdriver tip. It helps to "bite" into the screw and back it out. This only works if you can still get a little bit of grab on the screw without it though.

Tried the hacksaw, but scraped the paint The problem my hacksaw had plastic stops, either end of the saw, that made it tough to get parallel to the OTA to make grooves. I patched that paint mark, so now looks okay. Authetic used look!
I like the idea of the grinding compound on the allen/wrench key, or using an extraction screw.

There is a nice little carbide disc you can put on a dremel tool (or any high-speed rotary tool). You can easily cut a slot in a screw head. Should be able to use a screw driver after cutting the slot. You could also use the disc to cut the head off the screw as well. I've done this and it works pretty nicely.

I would use a screw extractor. You can get them from Sears.

You guys are very good. In the end, small circular diamond cutter created a small deep straight cut in the top of the screw, then an old chisel acted as a screwdriver. Success. Yes the diamond cutter may two thin cuts on the paint , either side of the screw, as the cutter wheel first spun up. Of course, I should have put some tape there, but paint went into the cuts and they can't be seen . And anyway the LNT unit foot is covering those unseen marks!!!!
