i broke down and decided to capture with the 4.5" meade reflector despite its horrible focuser. conditions started out nice, but deteriorated somewhat towards the end. the last avi was shot through some leaves. i was able to catch the grs, io, and europa as it emerged from jupiters shadow.

meade 114nt
spc900nc 2x barlow
wxastrocapture for avis and registax, pscs2 for processing and animation.

The animation didn't work right for me, but that's darned impressive for a 4.5" aperature! Nice catch! I can even see the Oval BA hollow (don't see the color though).

Nice capture and animation with detail

I don't get much color anymore either....most shots I see are pale red, unlike 20 yrs ago's deeper red
