Sirius / HEQ5 Replacing Saddle
      #2572534 - 08/10/08 04:27 PM

I've read many posts indicating that one weak link in these mounts is the narrow Synta style saddle and dovetail. It was recommended that the saddle should be replaced.

How do I go about replacing the saddle?
Who sells a replacement saddle for the Sirius mount?
While I'm at it, I guess it would be convenient to also replace the saddle on my LXD55 mount as well, so all the scopes have the same dovetail and could be interchanged between both mounts. Correct?

I got mine from ADM. The replacement saddle for my Sirius mount accepts Losmandy style dovetail plates. Anthony at ADM is excellent to deal with.

I see on their website that Telescope Stability Systems also has something similar.
