Does anyone know of any good programs to display the locations of good double stars to observe? I currently use Stellarium and Starry Night but neither of these seem to have good lists of double stars.

SkyTools has a star charting function that shows a great selection of doubles, and if you click on one it will give you the vital stats including the multiple components and calculated up-to-date separations for binaries.
SkyTools also generates lists of doubles based on magnitude, separation and magnitude differences, but the actual star designations that are compiled by the search is limited to Struve and ADS numbers. You can always go to the star chart function and click on a specific star to get the more common double designation (Burnham, Otto Struve, Herschel, etc.
I believe that Skymap pro will allow you to download files of doubles (Struve's, Astro League doubles, etc) and you can print out charts with doubles labeled.
These are the two charts I use for doubles. Good Luck!

And you can use Taki's Double Star Atlas. http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~zs3t-tk/index.htm
or Atro Planner http://www.ilangainc.com/astroplanner/index.html

Hi Davidgojr,
I have Starry Night Pro and it contains the Saguaro Astro Catalog of 11000 doubles. You can find it under the tab Options> Other> click Double Stars. Make sure you turn off the Stars under the tab Options> Stars menu. This extra catalog may not be installed by default by SNP.
hope this helps,

Richard, I just tried doing what you suggested in Starry Night. Unfortunately, I don't see the the Saguaro Astro Catalog of 11000 Doubles. You mentioned that it may not have been installed by default. If not then how do I install it?
Thanks!

Davidgojr,
You can find the SAC Doubles here on the Starry Night Support page. Installation readme is in the zip file.

Davidgojr,
Glad that worked for you. I understand about the weather, I have TS Fay knocking at my door and looks to be cloudy another week here in North Florida.
Good luck with your doubles observing!
