Hi All, There are quite a few mounts out there that are black anodized (the Losmandys, I think, are the most common). Now it is common knowledge that these mounts when left out in the sun light will slowly fade to a purple or worse a muddy brown color. I recently heard that a coat of UV inhibiting car wax will vastly slow this process down. I have never heard this before, any one out there have any experience with this concept? Let us know about it!
TIA, Robert

Apparently, some anodizing dyes will fade, while others are more resistant.
Read HERE.
I would contact Losmandy and just ask....

There was a faded strip on my G11. It's localized so looks like it was caused by contact with something. I never let it sit out in the sun uncovered so the overal anodizing looked great after >10 years.

Good question Robert,
I would be interested in know if anyone has tried the wax (if it exist) and the lightfast anodizing.
