So my brother dropped my Binoculars..fixable? new
      #2573611 - 08/11/08 01:38 AM

I was one of the "lucky" few who actually got a functional pair of Zhumell Supergiants when they were on sale (yeah, I know they are cheap-os). I took a trip to the Nevada desert and watched in horror as my twin brother droped them about four feet onto the earth.

They really got knocked out of whack. The collimation is lost, I cannot figure out how to (or if) I can re-collimate them. I am not finding any access to the glass or any adjustment screws.

It may only be worth a certain amount of effort to fix them, I guess I need to know if it is possible.

Also, they have a limited lifetime warranty, might be easier to send it in, and see what they are willing to do for you. You might be pleasantly surpirised.

Every time my wife wants to look through my fuji FMT 10x50s, i will say something like, "Ok, but don't drop them". She gets mad at me when i do this. Not sure why, after reading stories like yours. Maybe your brother should have them re-colimated.
