C9.25 and F6.3 focal reducer
      #2575101 - 08/11/08 06:52 PM

Hello:

Please, I would like to know how is your experiences with this combo, specially when using ultra wide angle eyepieces like Naglers and Ethos, any coma or vignetting issues?

Thanks a lot,

Alex

Alex, my 13mm Ethos works great on my C9.25 with Celestron F6.3 FR/FF with no coma or vignetting . I use a 45° correct image diagonal in the daytime and SCT diagonal for astro use. I also use a pair of 13mm Ethos with my Denk II in .66 focal reducer mode that also works great.

Joe

It works fairly well on 1.25" barrel eyepieces, giving just a hair over one full degree of field with a 27mm field stop eyepiece. However, with some star diagonals, 2" eyepieces may not come to focus with the focal reducer in the scope. At high power, the Celestron focal reducer/corrector introduces a very small amount of chromatic aberration in the form of mild lateral color to bright objects, so I don't use the reducer routinely. I get the same or better low power performance with my longer focal length 2" eyepieces (30mm WideScan III and 40mm Mk-70 Konig). Clear skies to you.

Is that the Giro II mount?
