I notice that the C9.25 appears to have a nice metal anodized holder while the C11 is saddled with plastic? What am I missing here? I feel short changed.....

Haven't looked at a 9.25 of late, and I don't know what they are using on the scope at the moment, but every Celestron SCT from the Orange Tube on has used, yeah, a plastic secondary assembly. Your 11 is in good company.
