Burgess TMB 6MM new
      #2576978 - 08/12/08 04:25 PM

Does anyone know when the new 6mm BO/TMB is expected to be available?

Who is carrying the BO/TMB line and where are you folks getting the best service/deals?

Has the scatter issue been addressed, and are the newest models been improved?

I did a Google on BO/TMB Dealers, and was surprised by the lack of dealers listed!

Thanks!
Bob

Spoke to Tammy at Burgess Optics yesterday with that very same question... she did not have an answer as to when they would be available.

George, what FL is your BO/TMB? The scatter issue in the older 5mm and to some degree the 7mm BO/TMB has been well documented and discussed on this forum.

Perhaps in the newer, or longer FL BO/TMBs, this "scatter effect" has been eliminated by better internal baffling/ coating Etc? The older 5mms even had a Mfg's fix which I believe involved the paint coating an internal baffle.

I seem to recall some posts on this issue where a few brave souls took their BO/TMBs apart to repaint the interiors with a non reflecting coating!

Yes, IMO, the BO/TMB is otherwise a supurb high definition planetary and Lunar eyepiece, and arguably, seems to edge out the Naglers( see my recent post on the BO/TMB with Paracorr inline) for planetary details! I would like to test some Pentax XWs against them when I get around to buying a few!

Cheers!
Bob
