Hello,
For the first time I connected my computer to my mount last night indoors. I have a few questions to understand the communications process between my software and the mount.
1. The CG-5 has GPS. I have the Sky6 software set at the nearest city which is 50 miles away. Where does the mount think I am? at my physical location or where the software thinks I am? Should they match exactly?
2. Same question regarding the time. THe GPS downloads the time. The Sky6 software uses my computers clock which is within a minute I am sure. Does this make a difference?
It was amazing using the computer to instruct the mount. I will learn more as I do more with the software.
Thanks.
Scott

It's probably a pretty good idea to set the lat/lon in TheSky to what's in the scope hand control. What I do is setup custom locations, "darksite," "backyard," etc. in TheSky.
Time? Not so much. If you want to set the PC clock to the GPS time in the HC, that's OK, but don't worry about a small difference. What will doing these things get you? Mainly, the cursor on the screen will be centered on the objects you go-to.
