Hello everyone!
I've been enjoying my CPC1100 for a few months now, and am considering getting some additional eyepieces. Currently, I have just the stock Celestron ocular, and some old Meade Plossls.
I'm considering getting a 2" Dielectric from Orion, WO, GSO, etc. and would like to get some decent 2" wide field oculars. In addition, I most likely will get some higher power eyepieces for planetary viewing, which most likely will be 1-1/4".
Anyway, money is an issue, so I'd like to stay around $100 bucks, give or take a little. As the title mentions, I've been reading a lot of reviews on WO, UO, Garret, GSO, and Orion brands.
It sounds like some of these get rave reviews. Keeping in mind I have an F10 CPC1100, it sounds like one of these 5-6 element brands with 70deg, might fit the bill for my slower scope.
Just looking for feedback, hopefully positive, on some of these brands.
thanks, Randy

The best widefields in that class are the Baader Hyperions or Orion Stratus.

In a 1.25 format,I'd agree. In a 2 inch format the 70º Taiwanese Widefields operating under various names in focal lengths from 26 to 38mm are pretty decent at F/10 and are under $100.00.

I won a 40mm WO Swan and i am very happy with it. It gives me 50x in my 8SE. Obviously it does not give views like a nagler or a pan, but for $120.00 i like it. I have read that the 33mm is even better.

A used 40mm MK 70 would be nice, I like it on my C11. I also like my 22mm Panoptic for DSOs, so at your price range I would look for a 24mm UO Konig. I have had only passing glances through the Stratus eyepieces that Orion sells.

Randy, GSO products are fine and they make several of the other brands you mentioned. As you can see I have several GSO and I am very happy with them. I got them from www.agenaastro.com who has the best prices and FREE shipping.

Interesting you mention the pan 22 on DSO. I have a 8" SCT and use it with a focal reducer. Same experience
Am i the only one to have the feeling that looking through a pan 22 gives the impression of looking through a nagler (in opposite to the other pans)?
Do you also have that feeling

I had a chance to try the 22 & 24Pans side by side, to decide which one to buy. Both were razor sharp, but the 22Pan pulled ahead (my opinion), because it seemed to give such a immersive view, I was sold right there! I still have it!

I would agree with Carol on that, in my 8" SCT, the 22 Pan is my prefer EP. The WO SWANS work well in the F10 SCT but not so much with the reducer in place, then the Hyperion/Straus is the better bang for the buck EP on the low end scale.

I've got the WO 33mm SWAN. It's good, but some seagulling at the outer edges.
