I just purchased that scope to do just that. I have only been able to split a few so far but all signs look good.

I use a 100 ED f/9 regularly for doubles, and it is a very OTA good for that. In good nights it is possible to achieve magnifications of 300x (and more), and I have seen a clear split in stars with separation 1.2", and elongation in equal bright pairs with separation about 1.0"-1.1".
Enjoy it!

I just came in from a night of busting doubles in the bootes. Mu Bootes(Alkalucops) Was a trill. I love this triple system. I pushed the ed100 to 200x several times tonight with very nice splits. On some of the brighter stars the defraction rings really stood out. I had more fun with this scope and double stars than I do with even my 8' dob. The views in the dob started to break down at much lower powers. This what I got this scope for. So far its more than proven itself.

Absolutely fantabulous.
