It can be painful to do, I know all too well, but you can always manually adjust / track while capturing instead of realigning and loosing data. It's sometimes easier to swallow a bit of manual work in the long run, especially with captures as nice as these!

Hi Johnny! That's an amazing detail for the aperture and image scale used!! The GRS shows some detail and that's a great result at such scale! I agree, the first one looks more natural... but the animation is very nice as well!! Great job!

thanks for all the compliments everyone! they are much appreciated. these are best results ive had with that imaging combo. ive never been able to pick up the dot in the grs with the 114nt before so that was a pleasant surprise.
Mike: "manual work in the long run". hehe funny you say that. i dont have a laptop so i have cables running from my computer to my scope for the cam and ra drive. i dont have a polar scope either so i have to use my ota as one and offset polaris in the ep.
its not perfect, but most nights i dont have to make too may trips between avis. that night, i couldnt even get 300 frames before jupiter was hitting the edge. so i had to re align. hmmm...i need to get a pedometer and see how much ground i cover in a night. its only about 20ft to the scope, but im curious as to how much it adds up. a new exercise fad, perhaps?
