Hi,
I have just purchased a Panasonic SD9 HD Camcorder and I just got a 37mm T-mount adaptor to screw into the front of the camcorder, last night I went out and tried to video the moon.
Straight away I noticed that through the camcorder viewfinder/screen I was seeing the actual SCT central secondary mirror circle in the middle.
I tried using a f6.6 and f3.3 focal reducer and adding more extension tubes but still it appeared either sharp or as a central blurred circle.
Q. Why is this happening? It does not happen with my DSLR. Q. Can I get rid of the circle in the centre?
Is it because the camcorder has it's own lens and cannot do an F0 like the DSLR? so the focal point is not set to infinity?
Attached is an image of what I am seeing.
Thanks
Daniel

Daniel,
In short, yes. It appears that you are taking video of the inside or your telescope. With a non-removable lens on your camcorder, you may be forced to shoot video through an eyepiece. There are adapters available so you don't have to hold the camcorder manually.

I agree. You *must* have an eyepiece between the scope and the lens of the camcorder for it to work correctly...
