After way to much consideration, deliberation, addition, mutliplication, processation and elimination, I finally broke the bank and ordered a 6SE with a powertank. Should be picking it up tonight.
I Just want to thank everyone for their help, and patience, through the decision making process and for the wonderful community here on these forums.

Sounds like you paid attention but if you need an explanation drop us here at CN an invitation and we'll see if we can give you some vision into what your question may be. I am looking forward to your celebration but when you first view Jupiter keep the commotion down lest your next action may be an vacation to the local police headquarters.
Sorry, couldn't help myself. In all seriousness, Good Luck and have fun

xfile101 that fits right in with the soundtrack that's stuck in my brain! I've been listening to Rage Against the Machine during my commute.
And congratulations gdakin! That scope (or the 8" version) has been on my wish list for a while now. And may the New Scope Curse fail to catch sight of the new package. (Sneak it into the house under a blanket and you might keep the clouds away...)

I'm sure it's a relief to finally make that decision. Now that you're an expert decision maker, how about helping me decide on a mount
Here's hoping for clear skies tonight!

Great choice, and congratulations! I hear many good things about the Celestrons, and very nearly went with one myself just recently. Best of luck, clear skies, and looking forward to your first light report!

Thanks everyone, We will be tak'in the 6SE for its first light in Northern Alberta, Peace River country, for its first light. Plus the forecast is for 30+ (celsius) and sunny. Looking good so far, but we will have to compete with a full moon. Either way, it will be fun familiarizing with the new gadget in the family...

Wow, that sounds secluded. I suspect not much light pollution. I'm envious.

Full moon is the best night to try out a new scope. That extra bit of light makes things much easier.
