Sorry to everyone affected by TS/TD/Hurricane(whatever it is at the moment) FAY. But this just MIGHT be the reasons why you are all hunkered in and watchin movies for the next ~24hrs or so... The 66SD showed up Friday(the new white finish is brilliant) The SS CW's on Monday(thanks Mark Dearing) and the ED80 was back in April but could still be considered a culprit(the verdict is still out on this one) Now my new widefield imaging rig is complete.
Sorry again! Hopefully we will have some nice weather soon to get out there and image...

According to your very white weather bar there, you're done for a while, LOL. Nice scopes though!

Nice equipment, neighbor. I take it you like NOFX? That would make some interesting observing music at a star party.

Thanks everyone, Erik:Yes as soon as the weather clears I will be out catchin some photons!!! CANT WAIT!!
Josh:yea the storm is supposed to stick around for a couple of days but usually when they clear out it leaves some fairly nice weather for a couple of days
Tommy:actually your neighbor Mark Dearing is where I got the SS CW's!!!I havent really listened to alot of NOFX in awhile...It has just been my SN for many different sites for years!!!And no I have never played them at a star party(unless it was in my headphones )..most people in this hobby dont like what I listen to...not sure why punk rock and heavy metal have always spelled "good times" to me
Jerry:yes yes,I am still waiting on the news as to how long my punishment will last.. I ALMOST got the XSi,I was soooo close(even had my CC out) but already owning Nikon glass kinda persuaded me to get a D40x....HOPEFULLY when the weather clears I will have a first light report for the 66SD AND the D40Xa!!!

It went around us (I'm about 10 miles south of Ocala) and all we got from it was a couple inches of rain yesterday.
No big deal, it's been raining every day for the last 2 month.

Agreed, the rain and clouds lasting forever and ever and now this storm is not helping us out... So far Melbourne/Palm Bay(Brevard county) has had appr. 20 inches so far and they(like they are ever right) are expecting another 10 in the next ~24hrs.... uggh..

thanks Brent- The clouds from Fay are here now.
Could you send some rain our way? We are still under drought conditions here.
Microbes- I'm coming down to Lake Wier the first week in September. I'm bringing my scope, My Dads house is near Lake Wier High school, nice dark sky. Who Knows, the way fay is going it may end up back in your neighborhood.

They closed the schools today here today, and there may be some flooding right on the coast from the surge but I'm 63 feet above sea level. Rain, and gusts up to 40mph is what we are getting.
And a csc that is solid white.

Yes, I took that with the 103mm and a 3X Barlow using a Philips PCVC 740K toucam. If you ever want to come out to Camp Zyxlor send me a private message. I am a member of Brevard Astronomical Society and we have our star parties out there. Fay is not your fault, I have only seen about four nights since June 9th that were clear enough to image. *****John

Very cool John!!I will take you up on that as soon as the weather breaks!!Are the skies fairly dark out there?I went to Harmony once and it was much darker than my Palm Bay skies. I am hoping to get some clear night where I can collect enough data to keep me busy when I am laid out after my back surgery in early Sept.(2 Herniated disks)...

Brent, what mounting rings/dovetail did you use to mount the ZS66 to the ED80?

Hey Kyle, I used the ADM rings that came with my ADM DT/rings combo(superb quality BTW) for my C9.25 and bought the 8" DT from Orion to bolt to the top of the ED80(i didnt want to use the ADM DT for fear of stripping out the holes in the C9 from removing/adding the screws). Now I can swap OTAs in about five minutes.. The only problem is the rings were originaly for the ED80 so the rings screws just barely fit the 66SD,I may have to get some plastic spacer to put in so I can adjust them more for finding those elusive(sometimes) guide stars..

Yes it is dark at Camp Z. I go quite often to learn from the master. I live right by PAFB and Camp Z is a blessing.
All my tries at DSOs have been at Camp Z. This is my first try at M101 shot out there.
