That of course is fellow CN'er and SLAS member Bill Cowles.
They love us out at Stansbury, they welcomed us with fireworks.

The telescope is a 6" F/17.5 refractor with a D&G lens. Very little color. Nice steady "refractor like" image.

We just purchased an energy rejection filter (ERF) that allows us to do Solar observing with this 8" stopped down to 4.5". You talk about a WOW factor. The Chromosphere is ever so distinct above the Photosphere. The Daystar on this is just fantastic.

Here is Roger at the viewing end. Despite the lack of activity we saw several prominences, including a nice loop, and a good deal of surface detail.
