Could this be the galaxy IC1296 next to the ring? I made an arrow pointing to it in photoshop. I tried enhacing the area around it as much as possible without destroying it. I think I may have stacked the comp image from envisage with 30 other frames. Each frame was 15s exposure, so that would be 7min 30 sec. The comp image was a total exposure of 7 min 15 sec. I tried using the "polar align" feature last night for the first time. I got incredible tracking. The ring stayed in position for a LOOONNNNG time. Without guiding I was still limited in exposure time do to slight back and forth motion. The quality of the images was increased tremendously. According to envisage most images were over 90%. This image is 95 images @ 15s ex combined total exposure is 23min 45sec. no darks were used in the stacking. I just used the sliders in deepsky stacker to adjust the blackness. For some reason when envisage saves darks it makes them a smaller size that doesn't work with DSS.
