I had a tough time convincing my supplier that I need an IR/UV bypass filter to improve images and he recommends I get a Broadband Light Pollution filter first. LP is quite a factor where I live, I did not think though it affected my Jupiter imaging.
What do you guys recommend - UV/IR or LP?

With any luck, the LP filter might also block the UV and IR, so you get two filters in one.

hein, for planetary imaging a uv/ir block filter is more usable. while lp effects planetary imaging it does not have as much effect as it does on deep sky imaging. i've tried narrow band and a broad band lp filters(orion and lumicon). the baader uv/ir blocking filter works best for me

Thanks, I'll have to order the Baader in from international - I can't find a local stockist. This adds more than 50% to the price.
I've decided to give the LP filter a go first, because I can use it as well for viewing DSOs from accross the yellow halo city.
