I'm looking forward to seeing what I can do with it tonight compared to my previous afocal shots of Jupiter:

After my DSI focusing headache, I'm glad to see that when in-focus on terrestrial objects, there's still about a cm or two left to focus more towards infinity (compared to the DSI which had like what - a millimeter?)
Now to check when the GRS passes on by...so I at least have something fun in the picture..

Allright, battery running low from a long night out, so before I charge it leme crank out an update here:
Of course, my excitement to try out my new gadget was attempted to be quelled by Murphy, on a number of occasions, the worst of which was when I discovered that one of the wires in my power supply had severed, meaning the scope, which is a bear to align right anyway, was either going to need a set of AA's or not move at all.
I ended up doing neither, resorting to good old fashioned duct tape to smush the severed ends together. It'll do for now.
Anyway, so I try a Jupiter alignment. Goes smoothly, until I pop in the NexImage. Nothing...ya te da te da. I try moving the scope around...nothing. Then the thought strikes me - take out the barlow, dummy! Still nothing, but now I don't have a barlow making things that much easier. I re-align, and presto - Jupiter, even though it's way too small (I hadn't realized yet how small my video dimensions were, either). So I take a video, and noting its miniscule size, decide to try a careful alignment to get it perfectly centered. Right when I'm about to put in the NexImage, my high treeline snuffs Jupiter out of my vision, and the telescope's. All right, I'll try to align again, and move the scope...nope, still behind that one tree! Ackackack..what now?
Ah! The no-brainer moon was rising in a gap in my other treeline, I decided what the hey, better something than nothing.
Well I get everything focused, and dumb the shutter and gain down enough. I take a few snaps, and a video - oops, I forgot to change the savefile name. There went my Jupiter video. Just as well, I suppose...it wasn't too hot anyway.
So I just finished stacking the video frames together, and even with the few that I used, it really shows a good example of how the stack method is more superior, and more flexible to work with in post-process, than just a snapshot..where I could mess with contrast and the like in the final stacked picture, all that did in the snaps was, for lack of a better word, smudge things.
So here's what I have: http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/4305/moon1rq2.png ^ this was the stack v these are the snaps http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/8630/still001aj1.png http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/3334/still002ez5.png http://img183.imageshack.us/img183/6216/still003cs8.png http://img183.imageshack.us/img183/2511/still0011el2.png http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/8254/still0021xm5.png
So I guess my question is- is it beneficial to bump the resolution up to 640x480? Or does that soften the image like I think it does?

I use 640x480 and I think it is fine , are you using 10fps when you shoot?

I had a go at Jupiter last night- the result wasn't too bad IMO for a first time.
I have a 130mm scope with 650mm focal length, and I used a 2x barlow here. Can I bump the magnification up any more, or will the image just get too fuzzy?

Id say thats a great first shot , mine was terrible.
You might be able to go with higher power but you will need optimal seeing conditions.
