After lurking a while I thought I would make a first post and say howdy. I have 8 inch dob, 4 inch reflector and a pair of well used binocs. I will probably never make many posts but I sure would like to thank everyone for the info I have already read and I am looking forward to learning a lot more from all of you experts!

Welcome to CN, Greenstar!
Maybe not many "experts" here. I'm not for sure, but there are plenty of contributors with a lot of experience that they are happy to share.

No 63 grand sports in my garage, I do have a 71 Green Coupe. We had 63 GS participate in our annual Corvette show the past couple of years - It is a real "star" of corvetteland, and pretty awesome up close. I just hauled all of my equipment into the back yard to do some real star viewing as soon as it gets dark out. Nice to have a clear night for a change. I hope we are sharing the skies tonight!

No, not many experts. We do have a few people like Vic Menard who are around from time to time, and if you count brute-force time at the eyepiece towards being an expert, Tony Flanders must be an expert based on that alone.
We also have Uncle Rod, and Vinnie can at least tell you whether your scope is upside-down...
Welcome.

Funny isn't it? Mine thinks I'm an expert, too, but I don't think that's an objective opinion...

Hellooooooo GreenStar, from the most beautiful state in the Union, polluted NJ. Well, some part's are nice. Experts? Plenty here, I aint one of em. My girlfriend thinks I'm one too, so, I let her think it .
When I was in H.S. my friend had a 63 black convertable (too cool) and I had a 79 Trans Am 6.6 liter. He blew me away "almost" every time down the New Jersey turnpike. We raced jets down the runway of Newark Intl airport. The turnpike conveniently runs perfectly parallel. (hey you kid's, I'm not advocating doing this).

Welcome aboard! I'm not an expert by any means. But there's lots of help around here for anyone who needs it. I stumbled on this forum while trying to get some help using my then-new Mak in 2005 and never looked back.
