I recently put out an open invitation of the Meteorite Central Email List, for it's members to come here and join the CN discussions. I think this will be a beneficial marriage of interests for all involved. The Met Central List members bring much expertise to the table and CN brings a thriving discussion venue to the table - so there is great potential here for learning on all sides.
I hope many of them come here and participate.
So, on the behalf of Cloudy Nights, I bid a warm welcome to the Meteorite List Members!
Regards and clear skies,
MikeG

Not sure that was a good idea. You've seen some of the squabbles they have on there, no?

Well, my invitation also included a friendly "heads-up" (warning) that some of the shenanigans we see on the list will not be tolerated here. Since I have a whistle hanging around my neck (so to speak) and I spend a lot of time in this particular forum, I won't hesitate to blow it.
Other than the occasional squabble, there are a lot of expert personalities on that list and CN could benefit greatly from their more positive contributions.

Thanks for the invitation, Mike. Look forward to checking out the forum, and it's good to see that you've convinced CN to introduce a category re: meteorites... Dave

Hi Dave,
I can't take sole credit for this Space Rocks forum.
Our own moderator Carol (CSA/Montana) played a big role in that as well.
Meteorites just seemed like a natural fit for Cloudy Nights - given the astronomy atmosphere.
And welcome to the forum! I hope to see things really take off around and get interesting.
