Any LX50 owners groups.

Other than Yahoo!, does anyone know where I can hook up with people who own LX50's? The RA is not registering movement on the Magellan II hand control. The Dec did that once and it was just a loose fork setting circle knob.
Thanks,
Mark

Did you find any? If so let me know as I just bought myself a 8" LX-50. Maybe we can start one ourselves....

Thanks,
Paul.

Paul,
The Yahoo group is the only one I know. I wish it was set up like CN is though. I hate the text style.
Paul, what year is yours? I think mine is 1998 or so. It has Magellan II Autofinder. Is yours Magellan II also? I accidently pulled the declination wires out of the plug. What a bear trying to get the wires back in place. Don't know if I'll ever be able to do it. I have 2 different guy that said they could do it for me though.
I think the RA not registering is a loose screw on the little RA wheel located in the bottom of the fork. You access it from the top of the base. 2 Allen screws hold the cover.

Sorry Mark, I have no idea what year model mine is... I bought it off this lady and she didn't know either. She suspects it was in the late 90s though.

No, it doesn't have Magellan - it used the old-style point-and-lock-then-adjust dec control. I guess it is simpler to maintain at the cost of convenience.

Sorry to hear you are having problems with DEC wiring.

I also have a problem with *slightly* loose RA control knob. It sort of slips if I want to turn too quickly, but is OK if I do it slow. I believe I can replace this at a minimum cost, but I am not going to look at it until it becomes a real issue.

Like I said, maybe we could start doing this just between us two and maybe other people would join in....
