My new scope came with a 45deg prism diaganol instead of the mirror diaganol could this be causing the washout around the edges of the field of view?
its like too much light around the edges.im not liking the angle either im used to the 90deg.its a 70mm meade scope the eyepieces is a MA25mm so i figure it has to be the diaganols prism.i think im going to have to invest in a new diaganol.if anyone has cheap half decent 1.25 mirror diaganol for sale drop me a PM.

Guess it's possible. Have you tried a different diagonal?

i wish i had a extra to try i noticed this while daytime observing with both eyepieces the 9mmMH and 25mmMA.like a glow around the edge of the FOV or out of focus light but if i look throught the eyepiece at a certain angle like using adverted vision it goes away its like you have to look throught the eyepiece at a certain angle to get a clear view.any ideas?

You can always use a refractor without a diagonal, if you have enough outward focuser travel to make up for the length lost to the diagonal...

i have a meade 25mm ma eyepiece. it is a bright and sharp eyepiece in the center, but all around the edge it is fuzzy and distorted. the celestron 25mm plossi does not show this effect in the same scope. i dont know about your prism but the whole thing that you are seeing could be in the eyepiece. i like the meade 25mm ma and i suspect that it is a bit brighter than the plossi, but i do see a corona effect that seems similar to your description.
