Celestial Sampler type book
      #2617707 - 09/01/08 07:55 PM

I just love my copy of Sue French's Celestial Sampler. I also love using my binoculars.

Is there a book like Celestial Sampler for binocular viewing?

Thanks.

Although I never got the book because I havn't done much binocular viewing, Sue recommended to me "TUB" or "Touring the Universe With Binoculars."

I use "Celestial Sampler" as a binocular viewing guidebook.

Too funny. I was actually hoping that Phil Harrington (love his column) had a book out but since I didn't see it at my local store, I somehow figured it didn't exist, which is pretty dumb.

There is always Crossen's book on Binocular astronomy and of course O'Meara's new one due Oct/Nov this year

I recommend Binocular Highlights by Gary Seronik. A nicely designed and well written book with "99 celestial sights for binocular users".
It is a ring binder type book so you can lay it flat when open...very convenient and easy to use.
Both Celestial Sampler and Gary's Binocular Highlights are brought to us by Sky and Telescope Magazine's publishers.
