Autoguiding new
      #2614324 - 08/30/08 10:46 PM

I was wondering if anyone could help me out here. I have a C8 on the CG-5 mount and was wondering how to rig up a autoguider. The thing I'm confused about is how to attach a guide scope onto the OTA.

Brackets are made that bolt directly to the C8 OTA. These brackets then will hold a dovetail plate (mine is a Losmandy type) to which you mount rings that hold the guide scope. Any good telescope shop should be able to set you up with the gear you need. Give the folks at Starizona a call and ask for Dean or Scott - they'll take care of you.

Regards,
Oly

I think Oly meant "rails". They're good for mounting equipment and counterweights, which you might need depending on what's on the scope.

I think the "brackets" to which he referred are the radius blocks, different ones for different scopes. The top mounting holes are standard for the dovetail.
