Cocoon nebula new
      #2620886 - 09/03/08 09:33 AM Attachment (19 downloads)

Here's another from my dark sky excursion.

The August contest entries for the Cocoon were SO beautiful that I just had to try out this target. The dark nebula trail is just awesome.

Click here for a larger version (~570kb).

IC5146, The Cocoon Nebula
Capture date: September 2, 2008
Scope: WO FLT 110 (TMB) @ f/7
Mount: EQ6 Pro, autoguided
Camera: modified Canon 350
Exposure: 2.5 hours, 15x600sec lights @ ISO800, plus darks, flats, flat-darks
Conditions: average seeing, good transparency, lots of dew (was set up on the shores of a large lake)
Processing: stacked in DeepSkyStacker, processed in PS CS2

Feedback and suggestions always welcome!

Thanks,
Adam
