I recently travelled around the world and went to several cities in both hemispheres and into country areas as well.
Leaving London I went to Singapore first for 5 days, a city with a Lot of metal and a Lot of sodium light pollution. The Sky Scout worked beautifully in Singapore.
Then I was off to south Sydney in Australia for a wedding in Cronulla. It worked very well in the southern hemisphere as well. It sure started to collect a lot of fans.
Then on to New Zealand, from Mangawhai Heads in the north of the north Island through to Napier on the east coast of the north Island. All through NZ the Sky Scout performed perfectly. One thing I did notice was in areas where there are less satellites the Sky Scout will take longer than normal to acquire a GPS fix but a key element for the getting the speed of acquiring back is to put the Sky Scout somewhere where it can sit tight rather than holding it in your hand. That seemed to work sweetly.
Then I went back to Australia but this time up to the Gold coast and the skies were good up there and the Sky Scout performed admirably.
Back to NZ again and then off to Texas where the Sky Scout perfomed to the best degree even though the weather wasn't friendly earlier this week.
The whole trip took around 5 weeks from Go to whoa. The sky scout was a hit everywhere it was taken.
Money well spent in my book. The Sky Scout is a landmark creation in amateur astronomy.

Just as an aside, I used the same pair of batteries for the entire trip where it saw extensive use by many pairs of hands. I was really happy with the amount of use you get from a couple of AA batteries.
