Web Producer, Sky & Telescope
Sky & Telescope is looking for an experienced Internet developer to upgrade and manage its website (SkyandTelescope.com). The Web Producer will work with the magazine’s editorial, art, and support staffs, and with outside contributors, to design a new home page, provide dynamic new content, and boost the website’s social networking functions. Extensive familiarity with amateur astronomy is a plus. Applicants must be willing to relocate to the Boston metro area, so he or she can work closely with the magazine’s staff in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This is a full-time position. Benefits include a 401K plan, along with dental and health insurance. If interested, please send a cover letter and CV to kcurtis@SkyandTelescope.com.

It’s not finishing something when your tank is empty that makes you a stronger person. It’s brushing yourself off and refacing the foe that defeated you with the same determination and willingness to fight that you had when you began your journey.

Hi guys- I was asked to spread the word amongst the amateur community, I don't have any info on who applied or who is on a short list. Sorry! I do know we have strong preference for amateur astronomer candidates.

Now wait a minute. We're talking about doing web work... why a need to relocate?

Because the Web is intimately connected to the magazine. And the only way to really understand the thinking behind the magazine is to have frequent face-to-face contact with the editors and (possibly even more important) the artists. Conversely, that's the only way for the editors to understand the thinking behind the Web.

Since "yankees" wasn't capitalized, I think that he was referring to "us northerners" in general, the way they did back b/4 the Civil War.
Now if I could only get my son to apply, he's in the web design field, but doesn't have much interest in astronomy.

I know nothing about upgrading and managing websites.... but I do live near Boston, am hopelessly obsessed with astronomy and stayed at a Holiday Inn last night. Two out of three good enough?
If not keep me in mind if you need any astro-carpenters.
