At last i have been able to make my first proper lunar observation with my Tak TSC 225 sct, after a long period of poor weather.
this morning i made a sketch of crater cassini.
i used my newly purchased zeiss abbe orthos 10mm and 16mm giving mags of x168 and x270
seeing was average, at best 3/5
time 06-15 to 07-00
the contrast of this scope is superb, i've tried to give some idea of the view in the eyepiece.
sorry for the photo colour reproduction, at present all i can do is photograph the sketch with my digital camera.
i am pleased to finally submit a sketch on the forum!
sorry forgot to mention, i used catridge 110 gm paper and HB and 2B pencils, and permanent black marker.
regards

Mike,
There is absolutely nothing wrong with that sketch in the least. A very, very good job from what I can see, with ample detail and good shading.
Looking forward to seeing more from you!
Good job!

Mike,
Excellent sketch. It looks like you used pencil and ink. You certainly captured the crater in a way that shows its recognizable features and the shadows give it impressive depth. Very nice post. Please send us more as you make them.

Mike, that is a beautiful sketch. Very stark, as befits so many of the features on our moon. Keep it up!

Mike,
An excellent and accurate observation of the crater Cassini. I am happy to hear that your instrument and new eyepieces (How do you like them?) provides you such impressive views. Thank you for sharing it with us all.

thank you very much for all your kind words. Carlos, i am delighted with my zeiss orthos, the fov is comfortable with no loss of sharpness across the field. this makes them nice for lunar viewing.contrast is wonderful. i also have acquired the zeiss and TMB barlows to give me a greater choice of magnifications.
