M8 with new guide scope new
      #2660046 - 09/24/08 07:08 AM Attachment (30 downloads)

I had this posted in the Imaging contest, but wife pointed out that M8 was also my target last month. What can I say, I like M8.

I wanted to test out a new guide scope so M8 was my target. I was able to go up to 4 1/2 min exposure. After a bit of photoshop to bring out the nebula here is what i got:

Very nice Jerry!! It looks like if you do a few more subs you might get even more nebulosity. You should try stacking in Deepsky stacker.

Thanks Doug. The files are too big for Registax. Will deep sky stacker handle 12MP? My images are 4300 wide, registax cut is 4000.

Jerry,

DeepSkyStacker will handle those large files. Mine are about 13MB (3032 x 2016) each, and it handles them fine. I even tried stacking a few 36MB files no problems. Give DeepSkyStacker a try...you will not be disappointed!

Good results, for just 9 minutes with an unmodded camera.
