Hi, I just bought a lafayette radio telescope F-342 at a local flea market. I can't find much information about it except a few post on this site for a similar model that needed parts. Can anyone tell me about it? I'm trying to find out how much it would cost to get the same quality in a new one. Or, since mine is in perfect condition, is it good enough for a new star watcher like me.

Welcome to the forums. I suggest you try the question at the Variable Star & Radio Telescope Forum. Just about everyone here will be using optics but I expect some of the folks over there can be of some help.

Welcome to CN!! Did you try the classic scopes forum? There are a few posts out there. Maybe those are what you've seen already. You might try posting there.

I'm not 100% clear on the scope is it Lafayette Radio Telescope or
Lafayette Radio Telescope?
I didn't find anything in a quick web search that seemed likely in either case.

Hi, Its a telescope with optics. Lafayette Radio sold telescopes back when. I have read some about them and all of the comments were very favorable regarding there telescopes. Not sure about the specific model you have but I am sure someone will know in the classics forum.

I fell for it also David! I was searching for a Radio Telescope and wondering what the configuration was. Then I realized, plain old telescope from Lafayette Radio!
