Can anyone tell me what the field stop, eye relief, and weight is of the discontinued Panoptic 22mm?

Thanks,

~jerry

Hi Jerry,

From an old table:

22mm Panoptic
2" & 1/4" barrel
68 degrees AF
15mm eye relief
25mm field stop
0.96 pounds

For all around use on my scopes, this may be my favorite non-zoom EP.

I agree! I love my 22Pan, & use it extensively. The viewing comfort is very good, no blackouts, & viewing thru it seems to give me a very "immersive" feeling.

It's an exceptional eyepiece for me.

Exactly, Carol. Couldn't have said it better. Any sense of why they discontinued it?

Thank you! No, I sure don't know why it was discontinued; perhaps because the 24Pan seems more popular. I had tried the 24 & 22 side by side for a while, but absolutely loved the 22Pan more.

It has been awhile since I owned either, and I never had the chance to directly compare them. However, I had that distinct feeling also. The 22 Pan was like magic in my old Newtonian and would join the 17 Nagler and 13 Ethos on my all-time favorite list. Unfortunately, they all kind of overlap in terms of true field.
