I'm heartened a bit to hear that some late, low number orders are arriving. My order of 2 scopes (#6685) for my children, placed on March 10 has not yet arrived.
The website recommends calling to leave a message, but the two times I did recently, the automated system said "the voice mailbox is full" and did not allow me to leave a message. I also emailed and got the autoreply. I'm not worked up at this point, but more than just a tad-bit disappointed.

It has been 20 days since the Galileoscope shipment arrival deadline! No Galileoscope yet! I have sent them an email and as expected with no reply! I can not phone them because it would cost me quite a sum to do so and I have already invested a lot in the Galileoscope itself! (In comparison to the salary I get!) I am at my utmost frustration and disappointment! I was really hoping to enjoy the summer night sky but it seems that I would not enjoy the night sky at all!

I have no connection with the project, but I'd be happy to make a couple calls on your behalf. Earlier you posted that you ordered in April and your order number was something above 17300, and I see you're from Amman Jordan. If you send a private message to me with your name, exact order number, and a more exact date of ordering (if you have them), I'll try calling for you and let you know if I get any response.

I find it very interesting that both you and I, who ordered on March 10th, haven't received the scopes yet. Maybe it's just a coincidence, but it got my attention at least.

If it helps at all, I never even got an auto-reply! The box just arrived on my porch one day. So hopefully that will happen soon for you, too.
Next IYA, let's pass the hat for some admin funding. Maybe my son will be old enough then to volunteer!
BTW, I've wondered more than once whether fulfillment is happening from the Racine model company? Or did they just handle the China fabrication part? Anyone here know?

I think it has been 4 weeks to the day either today or tomorrow, so I'm not worried. they said it would be like 4 to 6 or 8 weeks I think.

Heck, it's been nearly four weeks since "the end of July" and still no telescopes ordered in February. The poor volunteer who replied to my email has prodded the shipping folks in Wisconsin (?) twice, but they haven't felt the need to respond it seems.
Meanwhile, the IYA ends in four months.

It's starting to sound like some fairly early (Feb, Mar) orders are still in limbo. I finally did get an email from someone; not sure if it was prompted by the email I sent or voice message I left.
The email I got 6 days ago said:
"We have sent a note to our Distribution Center to try and locate your order. We will advise as soon as we know."

It's somewhat distressing that the official site says all orders from that period were sent and should be in people's hands, yet we see a number of us that are counterexamples of that. At least I'd hope that we whose scopes have wandered off into the ether would get some off the next batch in a few weeks, but then who's going to get shorted from that, if no extras are produced beyond those which are ordered?
And then there are those who never bother to complain, and due to the seeming lack of tracking at the shipping source, nobody will ever know they didn't get their scopes.

In February, I ordered five 'scopes for a library program....as of last week, the check hadn't been cashed. I'm beginning to wonder....

I am disappointed in how many of you are having trouble getting your scopes and have not been getting very acceptable answers. I am not sure what to do about it nor, am I sure of the status of your scopes or how to find out the status. I do not want to make any promises But I will do my best to get your orders for you. Again no promises. Actually All I did was design the scope and tooling and do the manufacturing. The rest of the group was going to do the customer service as well as take orders and what not. But I truly feel your frustration and will do my best to help. The folks that should be doing this are really great guys but might have bitten of more than they can chew. If you would please email me at tom.smith@mahasolutions.net I will do my best to see who I can nudge to help get you your scopes. Include your order info and your contact info The 2 big problems with the project is we have no money and not enough help. Shoot me a mail and I will see what I can do.
Thanks, tom

I finally got a tripod and finally gave it a try. I got a look at the moon and the planet Jupiter and it's moons. Unfortunately, I had the lenses in the Barlow assembly in backwards and didn't get to try that out. I fixed that and will try it tomorrow. Now, that I have one, I realize that a tripod makes all the difference in the world.

Well, tonight I got to try out the 50X Barlow lens in all it's glory while viewing the moon and I was not disappointed. I could see everything but the descent stages from the Apollo missions and the flag Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong put up there 40 years ago. While I could detect some distortions on the edges, it was not serious and did not in any way spoil the view. My next target with the Barlow will be Jupiter and it's moons. I think I may have been bitten by the astronomy bug.

Received our five Galileoscopes today and got one together. Online instructions much better than included written packet. Will try it out tonight!

So I just did some observing one of the Galileoscopes. Got it on a cheap little tripod and put it on a deck table.
Amazing what this scope can do! The 25x eyepiece is nice and wide. Jupiter and moons, luna, and a few fainter objects tunneling through the moonlight (NGC 457 and M31).
Popped in the "barlow" and took it to 50x. A few cloud bands now easily visible on Jupiter. Sweet!
Great design and executed very well. A triumph for the Galileoscope committee! This thing needs to survive the economy and become a staple -- a go to item for our hobby and for education around the world.

Hi Astrosetz,
Very glad to hear you are enjoying your scope. It is an amazing little scope I agree. Just curious what part of Wisconsin you are in. As you know we are in Racine if your ever passing close by give us a holler and we can show you the path the scope took. Again thanks for the kind words.
