Hi All,
I received a call from a potential donor that I had given a sample scope to and he had problems finding the eye piece lenses in the box.Just so you do not have the same problem they are between the taped top foam cover that the objective lens is in. I figure you would find them but just in case thought I would post this note. As of now we are about at 8% of our goal, the project will most likely never reach our goal but it is a noble effort. We, to this point were never able to find a philanthropist /donor to help us out. I truly understand their concerns in this poor economy. And would like to thank all of you that ordered scopes and believed in this very special project and made it happen. Bottom line is with out you we would not be at 8% it was your efforts that made this happen not ours. Again thank you so much.

FYI, I ordered mine March 2nd (order #2298) and haven't received the email yet. I imagine it takes a while to go through a stack of 2000 boxes.

First light was with the scope in the "18X Galilean Configuration". This is really a ramsden with the two ep lenses convex surfaces facing each other. Image is a little soft as imagined with plastic ep lenses but still bright and certainly useable. Although the fov is narrow it is noticeably wider than a true Galilean that only uses a singlet lens. This is probably a good thing as it will help the viewer locate objects easier.
The objective is well recessed. The front surface is 2.75 inches from the end of thedew shield. BTW, the outer diameter of said dew shield looks to be about 69.5mm for anyone who wants to go ahead and make their own dew cap.
The completed scope only weighs about 18 oz and is very easy to hand hold. It should work on just about any tripod out there.

Patience...
I ordered (#1152) on Feb 23, and no email yet. They are obviously shipping scopes at this time, as shown by StarStuff1's receipt of 100. I am sure we will all have them in our hands very soon. No need to panic.

Ok, trying to remain calm!
My order was #385 and I have heard a word from them. Just emailed yesterday to make sure I'm not going to be overlooked through some administrative snafu. Haven't heard yet, so I'm working on non-attachment.... Breathe! Breathe!!

Other than the initial order confirmation e-mail I received no notice until the delivery company called yesterday to confirm my address and that someone would be here.
Don't panic, guys. I have a feeling that there are a LOT of orders on their way.

After reviewing the email, my biggest concern now is I am going to wind up with 8 scopes instead of the four I intended to buy. Mine was one of the first 100 orders that fell victim to the credit card snafu. As the email I received from Tom in mid-March instructed, I placed a new order. Apparently, I have two order numbers in the system: 87 and 11340. Being they are fulfilling the orders based on order numbers, I am likely to receive two shipments. Tom, what say you on this?

Hi Nebir1970,
Just curious what Tom emailed you in the past? I have never sent any emails out to anyone and am not involved in the ordering process or deliveries once they get placed on the ship. Just wondering if there was a different Tom involved on the shipping side? I thought it was Rick F. Handling that but I am not certain.

That might've been a typo on his part, because I had the same situation when I ordered in February. I got an email informing me of the credit card snafu and that I would have to reorder, but that email, as well as any other Galileoscope emails, came from Rick.
Cheers, Kevin
