Shot through my Phenix 1200mm f/9.5 achromatic refractor, then using a 25mm eyepiece projection arrangement for the magnified inlay. Canon EOS DSLR, focussed with Live View and using a Fringe Killer. 42 images stacked. Final result converted to B&W and adjusted the contrast and midtones. (Not sure how necessary the stacking process was, and I'm thinking I should have left off the text, but hey, it's there now, and it's my first attempt at an image like this. Taken on October 10th with an un-modded Phillips SPC900 through a Meade 10 inch LX200 EMC classic at f/10 on an Atlas EQ-G, manually guided (perfect alignments are still a little beyond me yet). QCFocus used for capture, WcCtrl used to adjust exposure, framerate etc. 771 of 2000 frames stacked in Registax 4 with multiple alignment points. Good transparency, poor seeing. Moon was a bit low and suffered a lot of heat haze coming from the roofs opposite me, the scope also fogged up slightly. -------------------- --------------------------------------- 14" meade lx200gps.
